Lavonia, GA (Oct. 3-4) - Chris Steele set out for qualifying with the other 60 entries in first leg of three in the 2008 edition of the Fastrak Grand Nationals. When returning into the pits after completing his three lap run, Chris had a look of despair on his face and said that just felt bad. Well if bad is what he felt, good was not far away. Chris drove a conservative low geared lap with low RPM turning to not spin the tires on the dry hard Georgia Clay and walked away with the 5th fastest time of 61 cars. This put Chris on the pole for the fifth heat race Saturday night which he won in dominating fashion and walked away from the 50 lap main event with a 7th place finish in Night one of three in the 2008 Fastrak Grand Nationals. Chris and the CBD Racing team will now regroup and head towards Elkins, NC for the second leg of the three part mini series paying $50,000 to the winner of the points, with a payout of over $250,000 in its entirety. Catch Chris the CBD Racing team in action at the Friendship Speedway next on October 15th and 16th for the second leg of the 2008 Fastrak Grand Nationals.
